Video Voters Guide For Students

Back in June, Teach with TVW had a chance to interview the candidates about two issues they thought students should pay attention to. These short interviews are directed to students of Washington, and they were created specifically for this lesson. After learning about the role of the office and issues they are interested in, students can submit questions for the candidates. The chosen questions will be aired on TVW.

The 2024 Primary race for the Commissioner of Public Lands, the official who heads the Department of Natural Resources, was an exciting one to watch. Ultimately Republican Jaime Herrera Buetler came out on top with about 22% of the votes and after a hand recount, Democrat Dave Upthegrove eked out a second place finish with about 21% of the votes.
