TVW CONNECTS is a free civics program inspiring youth engagement and civic participation. Students throughout Washington participate in a live Q&A over Zoom with elected officials, state leaders, and experts. This FREE resource is an excellent tool for teachers to integrate into their civics curriculum. Students will learn from “the source” how our political system works, and the issues it faces while becoming better-informed citizens.
How it works:
Civic Engagement in Three Easy Steps!!
Students submit pre-recorded “selfie-style” questions to CONNECTS to be presented to the guests during the Zoom interview.
CONNECTS will invite some of our student contributors to ask their questions directly to the guest during the live Zoom recording.
All CONNECTS episodes will broadcast on TVW channel 320 and social media. Each episode will be made available to teachers on the email list to share with their students. We encourage teachers to make CONNECTS part of their civics curriculum.
