Elections: What’s at Stake

The 2024 Presidential Election may dominate your social media feed, but the statewide elections in Washington will usher in a lot of change within our state. Four statewide elected officials are not running for reelection, including governor, which should make these races even more competitive. 📣 Get easy to use WA State Civics Lesson Plans: https://www.teachwithtvw.org/lesson-plans/ Additionally, control of the Federal House of Representatives and Senate is up for grabs, and 3 of our 10 representatives are embroiled in competitive races that are garnering a lot of national attention. Within our State Legislature, Democrats and Republicans are both seeking to expand their number of seats in Olympia. While the presidential election will dominate the media coverage, mainstream and social, and conversations in the classroom, who wins the Statewide Elections will directly affect your day to day life. This video will provide background information about the state of Washington races post the August Primary Election and pre the November Election.
